Neither/Either

無駄な空間にうつる空き地。終わりでもなく、始まりでもない。建物が壊され、また建てられる。必要なものか、不要なものか。そして、私的なものか、公的なものか...そのどれも、「どちらでもない」のかもしれない。それゆえに、空き地は都市の中で重要な役割をはたしている。その曖昧なアイデンティティに惹かれ、自分と重なった。息苦しいこの都市で、空き地の「どちらでもない」という「間」性は、どのように映るのだろうか。

An empty lot' gives a meaningless impression at first glance, but surely implies 'meaningful room' to spare for time, publicity, necessity and so on.This photographic work of AKICHI [ Empty Lot] was also taken in Tokyo.The empty space located in a congested city of Tokyowill resonate in its location and therefore reveal the problems and its identity.The artist deals with the emptiness of 'an empty lot' in terms of neither , and then poses multiple issues by developing the idea into various directions quoting literatures.
